Hi, we just moved to Denver, CO! There are sooo many camping areas in the rockies in colorado and would love advice from those who have experience in the area. Which campgrounds are best views, best campsites for privacy, near fishing and hiking, near the best trails. YOu prolly get the picture :)

Any details and or pics would be great, we hope to go next weekend if we can decide on a place :) THANK YOU

You can always just go to the cool 3 story REI in the big warehouse downtown and ask the guys in the camping section. They usually have some good guides for sale and the staff probably has some great first hand knowledge.

I love Colorado...All my old college buddies live there and that's where I stole my wife from and brought her to the pacific NW.

Camping, head up north to Ft. Collins, Pick up some beers at Odells & New Belgium, then go up the La Cache Poudre River and find some great places along highway 14 to camp. Also catch some live music at the Mishawaka Amphitheatre on your way!!!

Boxe1, I realize this post was done sometime awhile back, so I hope you're still living and enjoying Colorado. Living in the Denver area, we camp frequently at Moraine Campground or Glacier Basin in RMNP. Glacier however is closed this year due to road work being done. Over by Durango is Vallecito Lake, camping is nice over there. Great Sand Dunes National Park over by Alamosa is also nice late Spring early Summer. Fairly hot in the summer months though. Let me know where you've camped since this post. Just had my Element 4 months and want to camp in it too. Haven't yet. Anyway, here are a couple links. :)
