I have searched high and low to no avail.......
The wife started and moved her "new" E this morning. it died in the driveway and would not restart...I came home from work, found the battery low. I jumped it and got it running again, checked the Alternator output, it was low so we drove to the parts store to have the battery and alternator checked. The alternator is not putting out. So we called the dealer we got it from (used car place) they said bring it in and they will fix it. We were hurrying home to charge the battery and get another vehicle to take the E in (about 20 miles to the dealer) when the wife kinda rolled through a stop sign. Apparently there was a cop hiding and saw it. so he pulls us over and has no sympathy for our problem:mad:
made us sit there idling and the battery getting lower and lower, various stuff started shutting off, finally he lets us go and 4-5 blocks from home it goes dead.
We walked home got my truck, a jump pack and jumper cables.
Went back to jump it and all the lights and chimes come on, but the little green immobilizer key light doesn't come on at all. aqnd the strater doesn't even try to engage.
I have tried it in neutral (automatic), checked fuses, swapped in a known good battery, even used the battery from the E to start my truck with no problems.
I am thinking maybe it is something to do with the immobilizer
is there some reset procedure to reset the immobilizer after replacing the battery?
I pulled the batter connectors and am letting it sit for 10-20 minutes as I type.

I'm about to head back over there to see what happes. Any input is greatly appreciated:D

GOOD LUCK!!.....and make sure you post up your findings/results. I hate it when threads liek this never get finished. Makes it hard for people having similar problems in the future to troubleshoot ;-)
Oh believe me...I'm all about posting problem resolutions...so many times I find the questions asked about the very same problem I have and no resolution.....definitely frustrating

Sounds like Battery Cables Connections not just to you're Battery but to the chassis/body or (Grounds) possible loose connections or damage cables, I would check those out as well and Good Luck!
thanks for the input!:!:

I forgot to mention in my original post that the shift interlock wasn't working either, we got it loaded up and hauled it back to the lot, I tried to start it again, and sometimes the immobilizer light would come on and the shift interlock would work but the starter would just click.....that was last night, just got it back home, turns out it was the ground from the battery to the engine/trans wasn't hooked up to the trans, it was hooked to the body, they moved it to where it is supposed to go and voila!!! the alternator and everything else work!!

thanks for the help!

And RdE_Rnr, you called it!!! Thanks!!
