I got an OBX header for the Element today. Its gonna be a few days before I can install it.
Anyway the primarys are 1.5in & the collector is 1.7/8in. I was wanting a bigger collector but hey its not like we have alot of options right now.

thats close to what I was thinking on tube sizes. remember small cams, small moter, small compression raito. I figured at the most 1 5/8 & 2" collector , but yours should make a lottle more tq & power sooner with a flatter power band (good for an E & mpg & towing) but I dont understand the pairing of the tubes, 1&2 then 3&4 , on most race systems it would be 1&3 then 4&2. but there are so many variables.they made it & they do the testing on a bunch of honda stuff & they probably know a lot more than I do on this app. so GET IT ON ALREADY !!! have fun & where do I pay pal some cash for the dyno run?

Hang on with the dyno stuff. I was gonna take mine to an awd dyno but its not there anymore. I'm gonna check on one of the other dynos in the Birmingham area & see what their rates are. But then I have to pull my rear drive shaft. I'm gonna make sure that I can do this right then I will post up the pricing & see if its worth it to enough ppl to make it happen.

That would be so easy to make into a 2 or 2 1/4" collector, looks good though. I just got a DC KSwap long tube for free, still deciding if I want to try and make it work.

I was already thinking that when I get to the point of getting cams &/or TSX head swap that I would have the collector changed to a 2.5
Here are a cpl better pics that I took today. Plus one of my dirty eng bay lol.

Boo to the collector size, but it's probably that small so that it will mount to the stock exhaust. It's definitely a purpose built header towards torque and midrange.

Mount that beast!!
with the sizes & length, tube timing(pairing) that collector is pretty close to optimum . might go up to 2" but defanatly not much biger & 2.25 max or the charge might get "stagnet"& wont pull as it should.(evacuate) I guess you can get some metrick tubing around 2.125.if you had big cams & higher rpm. this would need to be done with dyno runs to fine tune it. due to your butt & ears taking over for your head. now with that said GET IT ON !!!

Well the header is on & it was a pain in the butt.
1st off does anyone know if the crossmember is different in the 2wd & the awd?
I had to flaten out a cpl spots on the header to clear the crossmember.
We had to remove the heat shield under the floor & use a BFH to clear the 2nd o2 sensor which is in a crap location that myself nor anyone else cought in my pics.
The header is loud inside the passenger compartment. I'm hoping its mostly rattle from the cross member. We are going to pull it back off tomorrow & take a grinder to the cross member & see if see we can get it alittle better.

how are the mounts ??? can you shim a mount or two?or the cross member? might just need to do all of the above and rework the cross member. I was kinda wondering about that crossmember when I was under mine. you can pull up a honda site easy to check part # on 2wd &awd. thats kinda why I didnot get one for an accord(4-2-1 2 peice)and modify it to fit.I didnot know if there was enough there to do it in a timely mannor.with the E the only thing my wife has to crash oops I ment drive  but now that the bug is going again. I'm to lazy & havent been able to find my round tuit.
I wonder if it's the same one as the crv race header??? who races these thing any way???
Make sure it's not going to break off the 02 sensor when it torques !!!!those get pricy.I have a 4 or 5 wire on my bug

marksbug that was a great idea I checked & the cross member is the same for 2wd & awd. I don't think it can be shimmed with out some suspension problems. I am going to work on it tomorrow & see what we can figure out. I'll post up pics if we find a good fix.
