Anyone tried to install their own passenger side electric door lock?

I love the function of the E and can't wait to get mine; I realize I am trading some luxury for function and price... but the only thing that has me really stumped is why they didn't put this in? It can't cost more than $5 at the factory, and I firmly believe it is mandatory.

Ever try to leave a teenager in the car and then have them crawl all over the driver seat just to lock themselves in, then repeat to unlock it to let you back in later. Both my husband and I are stumped by the absence of this. Anyone else agree?

From looking at it, I think you could buy the cover for the drivers side and invert it so that it would work perfectly on the passenger side. A little wiring and a minor cut and you are in business. Anyone accomplished this yet?

I read where the CRV will have this feature starting in 2004. Perhaps you can retrofit the Element with the CRV replacement parts.

Or you could shell out for the keyless entry, which CERTAINLY should be standard!
