Well.... I have been thinking about lifting my element up 3" for about a year now. So I started to lift it. Here are some pics of it. The first one is it stock covered in mud, the second is when I put 18" rims on it and the third one is the front lifted. More pics will follow let me know what you think. Oh and in the third one I just put 5% window tint all the way around.

like the rims. as for tint looks nice but dam that is dark can you see good at night? and for the lifter front wrong wheel choice if you are going for the prerunner look. but nice big green toaster.

Thanks!! The tint is hard to see out of at night but it keeps it nice and cool when it gets real hot outside. I will be posting pics of the lift completed as soon as i get a chance to take them. But before I call it done I'm gonna put wheel spacers on it to set the wheels out about an inch and put some 245/55/18" mudders on it to give that mean look. For those of you that will ask i have 245/65/18's on it now with no rubbing.

I lowered mine (itsy bitsy tires), I liked the lowered look & ease to get in (every thing hurts these days & legs dont go quite as high for some reason) after a month I put the bigger (225-70) tires on the acura rims so it's raised back up. I wish it was down.be nice if it had bags !!! and better geometry suspention.

Air bags are nice.... thought about baggin it at one time but i deliver mail for the USPS out of it and i think i would just tear it up even more. But I will have pics up soon the lift is done just need to work on getting the tires and spacing the wheels out.

Nice lift

I'm a former off mild roader, but now just 'need' to have AWD in all my cars. I prefer the offroad look to the lowered tuner style.
How did driving characteristics change with the bigger tires/rims and lift?
Also, be careful of spacers, the further out the wheels are set, the more strain on the bearings.

The change with doing the lift wasn't as bad as I thought it would turn out to be chasboy. It's different though. The biggest change I would really point out is after I lifted it you can feel how top heavy the vehicle is. So thats why i'm going to put wheel spacers on it to give it that balance again. Also I know how bad the spacers are on the bearings but.... I just bought those rims about 6 months ago and really don't wanna pay for another set just yet. Unless I find someone who will offer me a nice price on them

But with all that said here are the pics of the lift completed minus spacers and wheels. I will also be posting more pics of my element and a friends element side by side so ya'll can see the real difference. Let me know what you think.

Hmm... me thinks some larger rubbers would help fill out those wheel wells.

lift

I was wondering where you got the lift from? I like your wheels, I was thinking of masking off my stock ones with a pattern like that, painting certain areas of the spokes black...or something else??

I found a guy online who sells the lift for these elements but.... He called his a 3" lift. It was only 2" in the front and 1" in the rear. But I got looking at the strut towers and how they were set up so I just made my own. It's very time consuming but that was the only way to get my E up higher. Also the guy online (i forgot what the web page is but if you search E lifts you will find him) sells his for $600. He cut it down to $400 taking off the alignment bar for the rear and the camber ajustment for the front considering I already changed them out. But doing it myself I only have about $200 wrapped up in it.

Chasboy... I have painted some rims on a previous vehicle I had they turned out good but if I were to do it again use a real good brand of paint or see if you can get ahold of car paint so it will last. JMO

mudders and wheel paint

paxti, thanks for that post. now I'm set on white letter tires in the future.
toaster, I reread your message about the lift, and hopefully the spacers will do the trick. As for the paint, I have some Rustoleum hammertone which has a nice finish when it's done right, but dunno if it will last. I used it to paint an additional 'swoosh' on my rv, and now I cant get it off. If that paint is no good, I will just use something from Duplicolor

Chasboy: If you used Rustoleum before and it has lasted you can give it a shot or the duplicolor you mentioned. As long as they have a nice hard finish you should be fine.

Paxti: Love the "E"!!! When I get ahold of my mudders (when I get the money LOL)I think i'm gonna go with a 50 series so I can get that stout look. Also did you happen to paint your plastic pieces or what kind of dressing to you use to bring them out like that? I have been looking around trying to find some black panels to put on mine and get rid of the grey. But can't seem to find any unless... I order them threw Honda which at that point they want my first born and my left arm!!
