All,

I have an '08 Element. I am looking for a place to mount my public safety scanner/radio. I do not want to make extensive modifications, just find a place I can incoroporate the item into the car and not have to take it out every time I leave the car.

For those who know about scanners, I have a BCD396XT (may switch up tot he BCD996XT) and plan on utilizing a remote head. All suggestions would be appreciated!

Do what I did - replace the stock 2-DIN radio with a 1-DIN, and put the scanner in the space below. The new Bearcats conform to the DIN form factor, which makes this a breeze. Main problem I had was that the bezel no longer fits around both, and required a bit of "adjustment"... with a belt sander.

Have you guys tried this? I run it in a window on the PC. It's a cool addition.

Description: Unitrunker is a computer program that monitors the control channel of a trunking radio system, and displays the information on the computer screen.
Version: Filesize: 670 bytes

It's a free download.
