I'd like to swap my old '05 5 spoke Element wheels ( pictured ) over to my newly acquired '08. The '08 obviously has internal TPMS sensors that the '05 does not, so I plan on moving the sensors over to the '05 wheels, since I want to maintain the TPMS system and NOT have the light on the dash. So before initiating the changeover, I'm wondering if there any issue with compatibility that anyone is aware of or has done successfully? TY!

I don't see the point in paying to break down two sets of wheels to swap over used sensors. I would buy new sensors from Autel or similar and have those installed.

Those 2008 sensors are past due on going dead, 10 or so years is average life of the batteries.
Another consideration is the the 08 rims have a counter balance weight in them to offset the weight of the heavy factory sensors.
The Autel sensors weigh much less, and cost about 35 each. Easy to clone them and not have to fuss with getting the E to learn them.

About those Autel sensors. About eight years ago I went all-in with Autel TPMS sensors and programmer. The system is easy to use and worked out great when I repurposed a sensor set from one car brand to another. I've installed these on three BMW's and two Honda's (Elements) using 28 sensors (summer & snows). ALL sensors exhausted their battery within five years. Needless to say I'm very disappointed. The sensors were bought over a three year period. I was as careful as one can be to only buy from (different) retailers who appeared to be high volume sellers (hoping for fresh batteries). Four sets were the dual frequency type, so the short battery life occurred with multiple sensor design types.

FYI. I have two Elements, an '03 and an '07. I installed the sensors on the '03 wheels so I could put the snows on either car. It works fine; but the sensors no longer do : (. As 07lmnt mentions be sure to have the wheels balanced, You will notice an unusually long string of weights were needed to compensate for the sensor weight.
