Where is your CD Changer located?

also....if you have the non-Honda Changer....are your controls for your CD Changer in your head unit or mounted seperatly??

I am just curious....not like I can do anything about it now, but my husband had them mount my CD Changer in the cargo area, I thought it went under the seat??? Am I wrong or am I entitled to being totally POed at my husband for giving the okay for them to mount it in the back???

Please Help!

If I had a CD changer and did not have amps to mount under my seats then I would mount the CD changer in the cargo area.

The factory CD changer does mount under the seat but your Sony may have been too big to fit there.

The controls for the factory CD changer are right on the factory radio.

The controls for an aftermarket CD changer installed in a system that has a factory radio are usually mounted separately unless there is an aftermarket integration kit to tie it into the factory radio controls and right now there is not.

If you also have an aftermarket sony radio installed it will likely have a jack to connect the cd changer and you will be able to use the sony radio to control the sony CD changer.

The main problem is that there are no universal CD changer specifications for physical wiring or remote control - therefore most changers are brand specific i.e, honda-to-honda or sony-to-sony.

I would recommend that you consider getting a sony head unit (like the one below). It will be a huge improvement over your existing stereo, it will be able to control your CD changer without extra controls, and you'll gain a cool little cargo pocket under your head unit for more stuff!

Get more info on the head unit here: http://www.crutchfield.com/cgi-bin/S-sjIIsx7ifXA/ProdView.asp?s=0&cc=01&c=3&g=300&I=158CA810X+

There's even a post that Alien Element put together that has a couple photochopped images so you can see what it'll look like in your dash here:

You can let your husband off the hook. :D

Ahhhhhhhhhhh....okay I gotcha! I just kinda freaked when I opened up the tailgate and there screwed to the side of my E was the CD Changer....I mean it is totally out of the way.....but man I was surprised!

I don't mind it back there at all....it is very easy to load and unload.....the only thing that bothers me right now is the remote for it is velcroed to the right of my sterring wheel in that little cubby. It is kinda cool because you can't see it at all when looking in the windows, but it bothers me that it is not part of my head unit....I am having my hubby check with the audio guys tomorrow to see if there is a head unit that can be linked with the specific CD Sony Changer that I purchased.

Thanks for all you help!

At least the one thing that I didn't freak out about was the Viper alarm and keyless entry....it ROCKS!!!!
