Questions on my 2005 Element..

I have a 2005 Element and I love it. But, discovered a tear or hole under the left side of my windshield. I have noticed also corrosion on the engine components and rust on many parts. What can be used to clean the corrosion off and rust outside of a wire brush and how do I get this part of the car repaired? I have a bumper-to-bumper warranty for a little longer. The Element only has 44,500 miles.

Lastly, would this hole be the reason my car is so loud or are all Elements loud when riding (wind noise not engine).

Welcome, Jenerate.

A wire brush and a little grease will help slow the corrosion. There are anti-rust products on the market if you want to get really serious with it.

That little torn flap probably isn't making a noticeable difference in road noise. Elements are just noisy, mostly from wind.
Twice a year my engine compartment gets Rustchek on all corroded parts.....also get under the vehicle and spray anything obvious. Once a year I maintain Krown rustproofing...it's about $115./year buts it's Canada eh..!!
I think Honda should give you a brand new Element and a $1,000,000 check for such a horrible problem:evil:

Dude- the vehicle is FIVE years old and those zinc and cad plated fittings are going to show corrosion.

Good one!

I went in and steam cleaned the engine a little and it still has some corrosion but the dirt made it look even worse before the cleaning. I was uncertain if I could get new fittings or anti-rusting screws etc. or what do you put on the hoses (type of grease or lubrication?

Does anyone have any suggestions?

I love my Element, but wish it got better gas mileage and was quieter...
