The rear air deflector is an option, it does not come standard with the EX. Also depending on the color of your Element, the rear air deflector may not match too well.

We had orded the rear air deflector, and it is only made in silver. It does not match much else on the Element, ours being Green. The dealer was good, he asked me if I really wanted it, after it came in, as he did not think it looked good.

The same thing on the rocker panel trim. It matches the rear air deflector. Did not look good on the car, so we did not have the dealer install it.

If you check the color in the pic, it is the only color (at this time) the air deflector comes in.

From driving it, you really don't need it (you may want it, but don't need it). The shape of the Element helps to really keep the back windown pretty clean, even driving thru snow and rain.

tommy.roks,

We thought it added to the design of the Element, but when it showed up, and only in one color, we passed. I kind of thought that the pic was just the sample, and not the only color it was made in, but that is OK, it gives a chance for someone else to make one. Lets go after market people.
the rear air deflector is not intended to match anything else on the vehicle, except other accessories.

They are Painted to match the Side Steps, Front Grill Frame, Front Bumper Trim, Rocker Panel Trim and Rear Air Deflector

so if you are getting the side step, and the other trims it works if you are not it looks ODD.
I am sure that down the road, as more and more Elements get sold, companies are going to come up with more and more add ons, and a color matched rear air deflector should be one of them.

I really like this roof spoiler..
Since they are painted add-ons they should be able to be painted anyhow..

so if you really "need" them, ask you dealer to see perhaps they might paint them for you, and how much

(or perhaps for nothing for the innovative idea they could then submit to honor, and perhaps get a bonus for, :D )
Gypsytda,

Dealer here in NYC? They would charge an arm and a leg if they would even do it
ok ok sheesh RML.. i know you are in the zone of evil (hee) anyhow my theory is don't ask don't get.. the worst thing that happens when you ask they say no.. no biggie right? :D
I wish they made them to match the fender color!
szacherau: things can always be added later, soooo you can either wait and hope.. or check with your dealer or local (reputable) paint shops to see what it might cost to paint them the color you want, They are not that large or involved..
