Hello!

I bought an Element back in October/November used and of course it has come with its own set of fix-ups I need to do. One is that the rear dome light that should come on when a door is open looks almost as if it has been ripped out. The switch that lets you turn it on, off, or on only when the door is open is missing and it doesn't turn on period.

What are the steps to repairing this? I am sure I can get a replacement at the dealership but I'd like to avoid having to pay for the install as I am pretty handy myself. I just don't want to go poking around back there without some guidance beforehand.

Thanks everyone!

it should be pretty straight forward, if you pop the lens off w/ a small flatblade screwdriver and take the bulb out there are usually a couple of screws holding the trim piece and switch on.

Check the dealership (or better yet Handa) but if the price sounds steep go to your friendly local salvage yard and probably pick one up for $2-5.

Good Luck
