Hello,
I have a creaking noise from the left rear of my 2003 E. I hear it at low speeds, over very small bumps, I can hear it when I get in or out of the car...heck I can even reproduce the creak by pressing my knee on the rear bumper.
After research, review and testing... (sprayed silicone on a new joint every day until the creak stopped) I seem to have narrowed it down to the rear trailing arm bushing where it attaches to the knuckle.
Question is...can I replace the trailing arm/ bushings without removing the knuckle completely from the car? I think I see 6 bolts that would have to come out. Stabilizer link, strut attach, the two knuckle attach, front and rear arm attach.
It looks like It could be done with just those and without removing the knuckle, brakes, control arm etc...
Then...I can either get new bushings or a whole new arm...
Whadda ya think?
