My cousin is a car guy and offered to recharge my AC, which after 4 years isn't as powerful as it should be.

He asked me to find out if there is a special type of freon that I need to get. He's doing his vehicles and will do mine at the same time if no special freon is necessary.

Thanks.

All cars manufactured since 1994 should be using R134A not freon.

Is he qualified to do a/c work? Does he have the proper equipment for recharging the a/c?

If he has to ask what type of refrigerant to use is he going to know how much to use when he recharges the system?
