We just got our 2010 element LX. My wife would like to hook her iPod into it. Is tehre a direct replacement radio that would be plug compatible, or will it need an aftermarket harness?

Thanks in advance.

There aren't any direct swap in radios for the LX, you'd need a harness to put in any aftermarket head units. That being said, most any place that sells radios also sells the harnesses. If you purchased a radio privately, just order the harness from eBay or somewhere else online and you'll get it for just a couple bucks. They're easy as cake to install.

Check the "Mobile Electronics" section of this site. Plenty of technical data in there.

I just bought a Clarion CZ-300 from Crisp Deals for my 2009 LX and I like it a lot. You can get a CZ-500 for a little more if you need bluetooth. You only need the wiring harness. You can use existing brackets to mount it. No need for an installation kit or antenna adapter.

They were the lowest price I have found on the internet. Here's a link.

Radio upgrade for 2010 LX

We just got a new LX. My wife would like to upgrade the radio so she can plug her iPod into it. I thought of looking for an EX radio, but that sounds too easy. Does anyone have any ideas? What year Element radios will fit into the dash without modifications?

I like my radio and just wanted a way to control my ipod from the steering wheel. I found this http://www.usaspec.com/ and installed it so my ipod is in the glove box. It works very well. It uses the xm part of the radio. the xm still works also only just on the second six buttons. I didn't think it was hard to install.

That is not compatible with the LX model. The LX stereo does not have the 14-pin aux connector needed for an iPod kit. He has to replace the stereo with an aftermarket stereo.
