seat covers?

1062 Views 15 Replies 9 Participants Last post by  4WDJay
Hi all, I have an 08 E in real nice shape and low miles. But the front seats, especially the drivers is badly torn and worn. Are there any GOOD seat covers made for these seats. The '08 has these odd risers on each side of the headrests that would make a universal type not really possible.

Is custom upholstery the only way to go for a nice fitting, nice looking and long wearing seat cover? Wary of OE seatcovers if they arte even available as the factory originals are not durable. Odd, for such a well thought out vehicle built for active use to have such poor fabric

Thanks for any info, Sal

Ensure they are compatible with flaps for the seatbelts to allow installation.

Thats just a generic picture. Has to be good with airbags in the seat and have seatbelt holes

I ordered a pair of Covercraft custom seat covers, headrests, and armrests in charcoal ballistic fabric for my 2010 EX. I had them before in my CRV, which were very durable.

Im shopping for some front seat covers as well.
The original light gray gets pretty uncleanable it seems. Nice tough fabric though.

So whats the deal with the price difference between the brands you folks are discussing, and ALL these other under $100 sets of front and back covers from China? (PU leather)

Pics look great, but is that stuff just cheap vinyl with fancy piping? Just on principal I would prefer to buy US made, but not if they are just getting the same chinese stuff and jacking up the price.

Wet Okolies seem like a good fit for my (retired) beach lifestyle.

Do any of the covers actually fit well? Seems to be a fair amount of slack and wrinkling going on, from photos.

Maybe dying the gray areas to black might be a better solution?

Thank you.

My Coverkings (correction from my post above) have some slack in the seat cushion. You have to secure the elastic bands under the seat frame. My 2010 seat flaps behind the cushion do not detach unless you cut the thin wire ring secured to the springs holding the flap. You have to cut the ring in order to secure the back and cushion covers. I just tucked them in. The headrest covers are a tight fit. The arm rest covers have some slack in the back located over the factory zippers. I bought the Coverkings because of the cordura ballistic fabric protection.

I just ordered a set of Neoprene covers from CalTrend for my 2007 Element.

There is a 25% of Memorial day sale gong on right now.

The CalTrend seat covers include seat back pockets (extra on Wet Okole) and have airbag flaps. They are the same neoprene like Wet Okoli, but about $100 less expensive. I had to call to find the part number as it was not on their site, it was HD141.

Caltrend also offers a lower price aternative called NeoSupreme as well as other materials.

Thanx for the link and info. I will check them out.
I had to call the 800 number to order mine as the part number for the 2007 was not on the web site.
