Sorry an Accord question...Buffer thing??

Our Accord has a transmission rattle that I think the mechanic said was a buffer(?) something. Perhaps I miss understood but the only thing I found on google was "Buffer Transmission mount". Is this correct?? & is it common for this part to fail??? We had the tranny fluid changed about 20K ago but that's the only tranny stuff that's been done.

Thanks

I'm making a bit of an assumption but, IIRC there are liquid filled motor/trans mounts in many of the accords. I do know that civics have had trouble with liquid mounts bursting. Depending on your skill level it may or may not be a diy.

What year and model is the Accord?

I have seen a fair number of trans mounts go south on the 1998-2002 Accord V6's.

my whole tranny went on my 98 v6 that is why I drive an E
The transmission in my 03 Accord EX V6 died with only 75k on it and that is why I drive an E. Not sure what year your Accord is, but apparently 03 was a very bad year for Accord transmissions. I know quite a few people that have had similar issues. I would definitely push to have Honda look at it again. When I first took mine in, they just said I needed to get the fluid changed and I would be fine. A week later, I almost caused a major accident because my transmission was slipping between 2nd and 3rd gear. Get it checked again.
