I have 2003 Element 4wd ex with 53500 miles. The front struts are leaking bad. Does anyone know if they will be covered by the Extended 7/100,000 mile warranty I purchased with it ? ( certified used ) :?:?:?:?:?:?:?:?:?

Since they are LEAKING you should be able to argue that they are DEFECTIVE and should be warrantied.
I couldn't get the worn outstruts on my '05 replaced because they didn't fail and leak-they just didn't work anymore.

These would fall into the same category as brake pads so chances are no. You have to look at it from a dealer perspective, "did the customer hit a curb and do the damage himself/herself". It would be like getting in a fender bender and wanting the warranty to cover a new bumper. Not saying you did anything wrong but the fact it is leaking would make me think it had been struck hard on or off road.

Replaced Mine

I have the 03 as well, I had to replace both front struts as they failed within 2 months of each other. I was out of warranty and had to come out of pocket on both. The dealership was the cheapest plus they happen to have coupons online...save 20%.

Honda replaced both my rear struts for leakage at 35,000 miles under warranty; they also replaced the motor mounts at that time with no cost to me. The dealership was reluctant but I had already called for corporate approval.

Covered.

My Dealer, Melton Motors in southgate MI. took great care of me. They replaced both front struts under warranty, and also replaced the Drivers side Door lock as i was having trouble with the key sticking.

My hats off to a dealer who knows how to give great customer service, and keep them coming back when that time arises.

Good News - Maybe

I just had my 2003 in for a TPS issue and they found the leaking struts and it WAS covered under the extended warranty that I got through the dealer when I bought it used. It was close, I have 2,000 miles until I am out of that warranty. It paid off this time. They didn't do an alignment and won't cover it in the warranty, but hey that's cheaper than the strut replacement.

Good Luck

Mike
