Not sure if I got the Element of surprise right, but here I am!
A new Element owner in Western Canada, around the foothills of the Canadian Rockies.

I picked up this '07 ASM Element SC on the eve of new years eve (December 30th) of last year.




I'm loving it so far.

Nice...looks like a nice one. How many miles on it. Did you check for rust underneath? Elements and salty snowy roads don't go together to well.

I thought they didnt use much if any salt on the western part of Canada, more on the Eastern side

I did take a quick peek when I checked it out while in the process of buying and had a more thorough look underneath when I changed the oil a week ago. I’m pleased that the rust situation are just very minor surface ones, which I will take care of in the spring when it gets warmer. It has 261,000 kms or 162,000 miles.

As with my other vehicles, I keep track of my fuel consumption. So far it’s comparable to what others are getting and I’m not that far off from EPA rating that I found on the interwebs. Especially since where I’m located is 3,500 feet above sea level, at this altitude I never really get anywhere close to the EPA rating.

Here’s my My Fuel consumption log so far. Compared to my previous winter vehicle… an ’05 Toyota RAV4 AWD

Just the SC. Ball joints are different, suspension is different, head and taillights are different. There out there but they aint cheap. Still love my SC anyway

I am a fan. The SC does look better to me. I really like the one in that maroon/brown color. Just wish the SC had AWD option.

I’m one of those that need AWD a few times a year but prefer to have it because I’ve got four kids. They can get themselves in messes for sure on the road (have two teen drivers and an adult, two in Civics the other in my old Gen2 CR-V.) I’ve got one left that will be driving in a tad over two years. I don’t know I just prefer it. But the SC Elements just look sharp to me. What kind of tires do you run with?
