Tire pressure light

Hey peeps. My low tire pressure light lit up last Friday. I checked and topped off the air and the light went off. Yesterday it lit back up again but the tire pressure is fine. What's up with that?

It may be helpful to know that I live up in the Adirondacks in Northern New York and we are in single digit temps. This morning -8.

Thanks for your help.

(From a newbie only. E-ople here will probably correct me)

As a new owner, my light came on when we got our first cold spell.
It came on twice since then (when it was cold, but the light went out after the car warmed up.)
Those times, I didn't park the E in my Garage, and left it stay out all night.

Since then, I have cleaned out my Garage and parked the E Inside the warmer Garage, I have not seen the light come on at all.

I am getting OTD (Old Timer's Disease), but I "think" that I remember hearing that this behavior that I described is normal.
yea, it's called 'physics'

Seriously, colder temps will cause a decrease in tire pressure. It's normal.

EDIT: here's a link to explain it in part.
2009 new element has this feature? mine is 2004. what else has Honda company add to its element? do you think these features are useful?
so far I know the "loose cap" warning light has been added to 2005's. mine doesn't have it either.

Year-by-year feature summary here.

<rant>The TPMS idiot light seems to be a source of widespread annoyance. If my car had it, I'd tape over the light immediately and continue checking the tires with a pressure gauge as always.</rant>
