I've searched this site and the internet and still can't find the torque spec on the bolts for the rear sway bar bushing brackets (NOT the end link bolts).

I found a Honda Workshop manual for a 2003 Element (though mine is a '08) online. It states an END LINK bolt torque of 22 lbf⋅ft for the upper bolt and 29 lbf⋅ft for the lower bolt... but I can't find a page in the manual that refers to the sway bar bushing brackets.

2003 Honda Element Workshop Manual (page 5781):

A Honda Civic forum mentions "Rear bolt that holds brackets and bushings on rear sway" is 16 lbf⋅ft...:

Can anyone help me out? Thanks! :)

16 foot pounds is correct.
Thanks! That really helped me out. I changed out my rear sway bar bushings with no problems. It didn't seem to fix my knocking noises, but it eliminated one possibility for almost no money. I'll have to look at the rear end-links next.

Thanks again.
