Silly silly silly... why didn't you just put it in the back of your E...lol

Thats a cool pic, I wish I could see it the whole thing while driving down the freeway.
Are you sure the BMW isn't pushing you?
Seriously, I like the Kiwi mini
Tangerine, Lime, what citrus will follow next?
That's awesome! I haven't seen one of those in years. Talk about your original ultra compact. Is that yours? It looks to be in the most excellent of shape. I would love to see more pics if you have any.
Wow, what fun will that be to drive!!!
Post some more pic's of the BMW Isetta
What year is it?............etc.
Love it, looks like a cross between the original VW Bug and an AMC Pacer...

...in a good way! :D

more on the BMW...

It's a 1958 BMW Isetta. I bought it as a junk heap back in '98 and restored it (took about five years...). Some of its more unusual attributes:

1. It has one door that opens in the front.
2. It has a one cylinder engine (300 cc).
3. It only goes about 45 mph.
4. It has four wheels; the back two are only about 1.5 feet apart.
5. It beats the Element on gas mileage: 60 mpg!

One of the musts I needed in a new car was the ability to pull this thing. The E does a good job of it.

...just need tequila and ice at this point!
beautiful restoration job. Always loved how the Isetta's looked, cool little car.

Really, really a cool car. I'm sure in Austin, it won't go unnoticed. That is great stuff, thanks for sharing the pics. It makes my Fit look like a stretch limo!
I love it! Now if only I could get one...and have somewhere to park it...and have time to restore it...and get my wife to not kill me for it...:D

Amen brother........maybe a Smartcar?
Amen brother........maybe a Smartcar?
Been looking at those for years. Only big concern I have is that they'll be WAY more money than they're really worth for the fuel savings. Sounds like we may not get the diesel version which is the really efficient version. :(

smart v. element

You know, I was holding out for a Smart car for several years before giving up and getting, yup, an Element. Mercedes flirted and flirted and flirted... Figures that they finally come out with it after I (finally) buy a new car. But, I wouldn't have an Element if I had gotten a Smart...
I finally got to sit in one this summer, Ebubba. They're super sweet. Would make a great second (or third) car if you have need for an urban/short-commuter.
OMG it's Ramblerdan back from the dead!!

I'm still very concerned how much the SmartCar is going to cost, as they have to keep it very low to make it worth buying at all...

Immediately loved the SmartCar when they came out in Europe. It is colorful and really cute but too small even as a third car. And the price... You can get a slight idea in this link (even if it's old).

Love my E!
