I've just started restoring and collecting early 60's cub cadets about 2 months ago. Drove to southern Mass. to get this one and I live in northern VT. I've got 3 of them now and i'm amazed how well they run!!
Craziness!
I like the ramps

Do you get any wear marks on your bumper from the lower clamshell hitting into it due to the cord removal?
LOVE the ramps as well (and the tractor's pretty damn cool too)! Never thought about doing that with mine, then again I'm 99% sure it wouldn't fit anyway. How much does that old Cub weigh anyawy?

Thanks!

I got the ramps for $50 from the owner of the first Cub Original I purchased. No wear marks yet and have hauled 3 tractors a few times each.

Twilightzero it weighs around 500 #'s and the E handles well and rides very nice even with my 235/70 Mud Terrains:)
So. ****ing. Awesome.

Dealers should really start utilizing demos of this kind of stuff :)
Holy Crap,

I know my wife's friend talked about moving a lawnmower and I moved a full sized snowblower, but that is a beautiful tractor. I was looking at the old rear engine models on e-bay, and I didn't want to snap one up and then go there and find out it doesn't fit in the caboose, by the looks of things I will probably have no-problem. The one I'm thinking of buying is the old rear engine rider. Same one Forrest Gump drove. Saw one on Craigslist for $40, this fall and didn't pull the trigger, once the cold is over with though, maybe I will look into Cub Cadets. That there one is a beauty. Like how you have the basic wheels with traction tires on the Element too. Nothing wrong with getting everything you can out of these things. Basically, I have a tiny lawn, and have cut it with a reel mower (since I have no garage or shed), but the damn reel thing never cuts the onion grass. Then I was thinking of getting a self propelled Honda to get it done fast(shed is coming soon). The more I looked though, these things cost about$100-250 less then the hand mowers and fit right in a shed. You can even stand them on end and fit them in the back of the shed come winter.

do you know the dimensions of the Cub Cadet tractor?
how is the ride while that is in the back? *bouncy bouncy bouncy
Wow! I have a Cub 107 but didn't much consider putting it in my E. Guess I figured it wouldn't fit. What does that weight do to the spare tire cover? It doesn't seem durable enough to hold that weight.
Judesminkey, who hasn't posted since 2011, is unlikely to answer. But at the very least I'd lay down some plywood before putting the tractor in.

I always wonder about the people who manage to do these neat (if a little dangerous) things and then suddenly disappear from sight.
