I just noticed the following blurb in an article about safety recalls in last Sunday's New York Times:

There may be a clanking noise coming from the front suspension on the [Honda] Element while going over bumps. In T.S.B. 09-023 issued on April 11, Honda said the clank from some 2003-8 Elements came from cracked bushings in the lower front control arms. Replacing the bushings should resolve the problem.

Here's a link to the full article:

Does anyone have access to the full TSB? Is this something Honda will replace for free?

The is a TSB for updated compliance bushings on the front arm. They will be replaced under the vehicle basic warranty if the vehicle is still in the 3yr/36000 mile window.
