The Rube and his crew of "Elementos Latinos" are preparing for a little get together in City Island. We've meet there on a couple of occasions and it has worked out just fine for us. We're looking into one Saturday or Sunday in July.
For those who are interested (everyone's invited, of course) just reply to this thread or drop me a line. This may be the "last" time you get to see "The Rube" before I get rid of it (hopefully). Lets see if we can get a nice group to show up. I know Mark, Edwin and Rene will be there. Let's pass the word around and see how many interested parties we can get. Tony S, looking to see you again. Also Rob and Gregg.

Sounds good to me. I've been so out of touch with everyone it would be good to get a good meet going to catch up...

Okay - That sounds good to me. Now we have to get the ball rolling. First of all - Saturday or Sunday?? Which is best for all. Is everyone okay with meeting in City Island? Any other suggestions? Feedback is essential.

im ok with meeting in City Island, i grew up in Yonkers but live in Jersey now, so either way id be traveling, lol. I posted on your other thread as well for something coming up here in Jersey if you or anyone wants to come out. Is there a website for Elementos latinos?

Okay - Here's the scoop so far.

Date: Saturday, August 1st.

Place: City Island (Will get back to you on the exact name of the place)

Time: Noon

If anyone's got a better place to meet post now or forever hold your peace.

Cool im down also, just let me know exactly where in City Island. Ive only been to that spot all the way at the end & on the left. I dont know how long i'll be able to chill because I got mad things to do in NY while im there, but i'll definitely come through.

Where Is City Island?

Is this the Island in the East River off of Manhatten? Maybe some southerners can make it??! From Philly area, about 2 hours drive time I think. The wife and I can make a day out of it and maybe go to a good restaurant that night. If there's multiple bridges which ones best?

It's actually closer to the Bronx. You can GPS it or go on Mapquest. It's not hard to get there although on weekends there is usually a lot of traffic. A couple of years ago DC Box joined us. If you need more info just drop me a pm and I will get back to you.

i thought it was a no go.

i thought rube was going to reschedule... there was a post that said it was going to be cancelled. let me know when you guys will meet up again i will be there

I did post about canceling the meet. Unfortunately r1ch didn't see it. I sent him a pm apologizing l for the misunderstanding. I will be coming up with another date as soon as I get back from my mini vacation (going to Lancaster, PA for a couple of days). In the meantime if anyone has a place they think would suit our meet please let us know.
