I have been hearing a lot about the valet key and I was wondering what does it do. I also herd about the valet mode on the Element what does that do? Thanks for the help.

The valet key only unlocks the front doors and starts the E. It does not give access to the glove box. As for the valet "mode", I have no idea.

The Valet mode is associated with the factory alarm system. It simply puts the alarm in "standby" if you use the passive arming mode.
Standby just means that the alarm won't auto arm temporarily. Nomally, after the key is turned off, the alarm arms itself 20 seconds after the last door is closed (auto arm mode).

In valet mode, the alarm LED blinks once for a longer duration when a door is opened, and when you remove the key from the ignition. This reminds you that the system is still in valet mode.
