Just decided to purchase an Element, however...The sales rep says I have a 90 day wait for my DX 4wd 5sp(manual transmission). Evidently Honda is not making a lot of 4wd 5sp Elements. I have checked with dealers web sites all over WA state, and haven't found any 4wd 5sp Elements. Anyone have a idea as to how I could find one sooner than 90 days? I would appreciate any comments. :?

You might want to see if Superman (he is a member and works at a Honda dealership in TX) he may be able to see who has one in stock or on order if you ask him nicely :wink:

I had the same problem. There are not many 4wd 5 spds coming to WA state, and many of those that are appear to be spoken for. Try Olympia or Spokane Honda by phone (sometimes websites aren't correct). From friends I've talked to, it seems like they did a better job of requesting 5spds through the allocation process.
We just ordered ours yesterday from South Tacoma Honda. GG 4WD 5sp EX. Should get it the middle of next month. VIN at the end of this month or very early next month. We were told up to 90 days but our dealer was able to find one that was allocated to another dealer. Good luck.
Same here. Mine was going to be a 6-week-plus wait. But the dealer screwed up and didn't actually place the order. In the mean time, another dealer got one just the way I wanted it. The first dealer let me cancel the order and I bought it from the second dealer the same day. Dumb luck.
Update on trying to buy a Element. I put down a deposit with South Tacoma Honda, on an Element. The next day I got a call from their salesman telling me that Honda will not be delivering any more AWD, 5 sp Elements. I am guessing they mean the 2003 line of Elements, but do not know for sure. Since I do not want an automatic, I won't be buying an Element.

From what I know, this is not true (purchased last week, a friend is getting a 5spd EXS delivered in the Seattle area at the beginning of August). Some are trickling into the state, and I guess dealers are reluctant to part with them because they are hot or they are spoken for.
Perhaps what your salesman meant was that his dealership didn't select any 5spds in his dealership's allocation and no other dealer was willing to trade for what was in the dealership's inventory or short-term future allocation (next month or two). I'd keep searching at other dealers, because they absolutely do exist.

I put an order in for a 5spd AWD EX, had the same problem getting my dealership to order it. Spoke with the location manager, and it will be here by mid Sept. Still a 60 day wait, but he is ordering it from Honda and it has to be made. I think the dealer you are dealing with is giving you the run around. Honda is still making 5spd AWD's, they are about to make mine.
