Yeah but, I have to hit bookmarks then scroll to IE bookmarks or most visited, I want a button on my page like IE had that goes straight to my favs!

Oh that. I'm a keyboard cowboy, I just press Ctrl-B and it pops up the bookmark list on the left side of the page

Go to the page you want to use as your homepage then click Tools > Options > Main button on the top. There's a text box that says "Home page:" and a button that says "use current". Click that button and it'll auto-fill the page info in the box. Click OK.

I have a new question----how do you turn off FireFox's spell-checker? It doesn't like to be in the same room as Google's spell-checker.

Tools > Options > Advanced > uncheck the "Check my spelling as I type" box.

My guess is you were like most people and trying to run every add-in, search assistant, etc. under the sun. But that's just a guess...
