The site is not doing anything to affect your browser. Try clearing your cache, deleting your cookies, a different browser, etc.
I'm calling BS on this. I had the same trouble on another computer. EOC was the only site to do it.

As a web designer, I will be the first to say that while I wish IE was dead, telling people to use a different browser just doesn't work.

It seems to only freeze about the time the banner comes up, now that you mention it. The page never fully loads.
I think you nailed it on the head. There is some ad that is causing the problem.

As much as I'd like to browse sans ads, I'd rather have free access to the web site. I'll bet the ad revenue is part what keeps this site running.

We think we have figured out the problem and are trying to fix it now... Let me know if it still persists this afternoon.

Also, what are you doing using IE.... I suggest using firefox... Its a far stronger browser!!! You will thank me for it.

That's like me saying why are you using vBulletin use PHPbb or something else instead.

Well I got the EOC on there, I'll have to take a week off from work to get everything else there, last thing...........My start page is Google, how do I change that to a news page?
Click Tools -> Options
In the dialog click main on the left. You should see your home page options. (Firefox 3.0.x - I haven't installed 3.5 on this computer yet)
