I am looking at an 05 with:
Salvage title
200,000 miles
Stick shift
Awd
appears to be pretty reliable and will get a car fax and garage inspection

I have wanted a sf and already have an 08 lx that works fine but is an automatic
What do people think

First of all - a salvage title reduces the resale value by about 40%. So, take the KBB, edmunds, etc., value and take that % off the price as a good starting point. The vehicle will NEVER be worth full value, no matter how well it was repaired. Once you get the inspection results back (and I'd go with a VERY reputable body/frame shop), you can start from there.
Having said all that, instead of purchasing a salvaged vehicle, you CAN convert yours into an MT, it's just not an easy task. But, it may be less than purchasing a salvage vehicle and the (potential) repairs that may come down the road (as it's now been compromised). Something to consider..... :)

Great input, I can’t see it working to do the conversion as the automatic is my daily driver and I see this a serious amount of work.
I will send out an update on what happens
