Independence Day Weekend Plans

You'll find me and the fam at Daytona International Speedway for a full day of racing. The day starts with the Brumos Porsche 250 at 11am edt with the Daytona Prototypes and the stars of Grand-Am. Then at 7:30pm edt we'll enjoy the Coke Zero 400 under the lights with the NASCAR folks. This will be the last race until the Rolex 24 Hours in January as the speedway is completely repaved.

Tickets are still available at www.DaytonaInternationalSpeedway.com . I've attended many NASCAR races at Talladega but this will be my first in Daytona. I'm this close... might as well.

We return to Jacksonville on Sunday for fireworks on the St. Johns River downtown at 9:30pm edt. The fam will return to Montgomery on Monday and I'll spend the day watching my newly-acquired Duckman DVDs and when I want to take a break from that, there's Robot Chicken online at Adult Swim.

The seafood on this side of Florida is plentiful and tasty and doesn't come pre-oiled.

Going camping this week end at Cachuma Lake in Santa Barbara - campgrounds are insanely jammed on 4th of July week end so we're planning to stay in town.

July 4th week end we'll be at my sisters house on Saturday for a pool party and BBQ.
Sunday night (the 4th) we'll pedal down the Ballona Creek Bike Path to the end of the jetty in Marina Del Rey and watch the firework show in the harbor.
Should be a good time.

I will be!! My friend's family owns a cabin in Sugarloaf so we'll be around town next weekend. We should meet up, you can show me the "good trails" to ride up there.:grin:
