I am planning to move from Houston to North Carolina in August and have ordered a hitch to install. I then plan to tow a 4x8 foot UHaul trailer for 1200 miles. The manual states that the max towing capacity is 1500lbs and that the max weight is 625 lbs which will include all passengers and the head weight of the trailer. THey warn that any more weight than this will put strain on the chasis and engine. I just got my E 2 weeks ago and don't want to damage it. Am I posing any serious threat to my Eledment by towing this load?

I have installed my hitch and wiring. I leave in a couple weeks. I'll let you know how it goes.
I have asked around as much as I can about what it might do to the E and everyone has more or less said, if you stay below the load limits the E should be fine. I hope so, cause I'll be very near the limiits if not slightly over. But it saves me $1000.
