Wheel cleaners

I was wondering what, if anything, people are using to clean their EX wheels. I was getting ready to order the vinyl dressing from Griots, and was thinking about the wheel cleaner. Cleaning the brake dust off of the wheels can be time consuming, and thought maybe this would make it a little easier. I know that the owner's manual doesn't recommend using anything but soap and water, but it looks like the Griots cleaner is realively mild. Anyone tried it yet? Any other suggestions that won't cause more harm than good?

I just use a dishwashing scrubbie - the kind that is safe for teflon - and some soapy water, and a lot of elbow grease.
I use that Turtle Wax Wheel Cleaner thing that you spray on, let it sit while im washing the rest of the car, then scrub and rinse...works pretty good.
I use Finish First polish on my wheels!
Seals powder coat finish and creates anti-static barrier
that repels brake dust (we got discs front and rear)
Wheels clean up with a spray of the hose!

After you clean your wheels up there is a product called Wheel Wax. That is the actual product name. Anyhow, you wax your wheels and it repels the brake dust. Same as the post above, then you can just spray them off.

i just read in the owners manual to use whatever you use to wash the car with and not to use scrub brushes that could damage the clearcoat on the wheels!
Any thing that you spray on and hose off will be a light acid type cleaning solution that will dull and tarnish the surface over time. Don't use these. Just use car wash soap for the life of your element.
I've found that applying a coat of wax to the wheels makes it much easier to wipe off the brake dust.
