I have my back seats removed and any unusual movement such as hard braking, occasional door slamming, cargo shifting...cause the plastic covers over the side seat attachment area to pop off.

When I put it back on I can't seem to get the feeling that it's secure. Anything I can do?

There's a thread going about this problem. One poster took them apart and realigned them; another massaged them over the stove to get a shape that fit. And the very newest Elements seem to have cured the problem. :p

Hi, I've had my Element for 5 days now. It is all the cars/vans/trucks I've owned in the past, and more, all in one cool Honda. I have learned a lot from reading all the different forums while waiting for my ride (2wks), thank you. Here's a few things I hope can help someone else.

1. Those pesky plastic panels. One of them wouldn't stay closed and here's how I easily solved the problem. I pushed it shut and then moved it from side to side. I eventually heard a pop and knew it was closed correctly.

2. When I picked my Element I was dissapointed very much with the stereo (I have a SMM 8) 4wl/auto EX.) Once I learned how to control the sub/treble/bass/fade I realized what was wrong with the sound. Every control was maxxed out. For a much better sound, put all faders at "0" which is flat and raise the sub (I like +2.) This allowed me to turn up the stereo and use more of the amplifier. Now it sounds amazing!
