I have spent a considerable amount of time looking at wheels over the past week or so, and I have elected to keep the stock wheels for the time being. Most, if not all, of the wheels that fit Mist-E are/were designed for cars, and the look it gave was not really what I wanted.

I want to preserve and enhance the chunky, box-ish, mini-Hummer, utilitarian look it has. I did order some new tires to fill out the wheel wells nicely, a set of Michelin Cross Terrain SUV P235/70R-16's which I will get installed next Thursday, 3/20.

If you want to see how the element looks with a variety of wheels, tirerack.com has a nice interactive site.

Have fun,

I got a set of Michelin Cross Terrain SUV P235/70R-16's mounted on my Element at Costco and was very suprised. The car didnt even look the same anymore. the way that size tire fills the wheelwell up looked awsome. and the change in the ride and handling was a major plus also. even the guy doing the install commented on how much nicer the SUV looked with real tires on it.and with the 65,000 mi warrenty we should be set up for a while.

I just added 235/50r/18`s to my E. You would think that it would effect the ride in such a way that it would be less comfortable. I find that with 1 and a half inch wder wheels and tires and a smaller amout of sidewall the suv is much more responsive, and I didn`t lose the smooth feel under the car that I thought I would... All in all the E feels much stronger planted then with my factory tires. It doesnt seem that acceleration was effected like I thought it would be either... I` ll have to report back on gas mileage as they`ve only been on a day...

I think all those pics are Photoshopped tho. The Studio-E wheels are one offs made especially for the show model. It's supposedly a modified Acura design.
