I have a 2008 Element EX with the seven speaker package.
I have successfully installed (using the metra harness) a new Android head unit that powers all 7 speakers. Great!

I'm struggling to work out how to wire up the factory steering wheel controls.
My head unit has two wires for resistance based steering wheel control buttons. KEY 1 which i'm supposed to connect to the positive steering wheel control wire, and KEY 2.

I don't know where in the old harness to connect them too, and if there is a 3rd party adapter I can use to prevent tapping the factory harness?

Does anyone have a photograph of what these wires would look like?

Thank you in advance.

I'm really stuck with this, everything I've read said it should be as simple as connecting that key one 5v wire and the steering wheel ground, but no luck... I can't believe I need to get an adapter for it.

Has anyone had any luck with this, or able to give me another "lead" (no pun intended) to google?
