I have an '06 element with stock wheels. A friend has some extra tires that are 225/55/16 he is giving away. Will these work on the stock rim and not cause any issues with performance?

They are smaller in diameter than stock, by 2" (8%)

That means higher rpms, but better torque. Gas mileage could go either direction.

You should also look up the spec tables for that model, or something similar, and compare the load rating. Or look on the tire side wall. Generally going with a lower load rating than stock is not recommended, though some do it when they want a lower look. You probably will want to run higher pressures to compensate.

according to the discount tire guy its not correct..i wonder how my 225/45 are going to affect the performance..

i have 17" TSX wheels. I know the sidewall is low, but I havent really noticed anything performance-wise
