04 Element stalling. Need to replace the Throttle Body and ICV

After wasting time and my old back I realize I need to replace the Throttle Body and ICV. Can anyone point me to the best price for these parts? Has anyone tried the after market ones?

INITIAL POST.
Today my 04 Element (Auto Trans, 83k miles) stalled multiple times. The engine would start and stay running until the engine warms up then I have to keep my foot on the accelerator. But if I removed my foot the engine would die. The battery voltage meter I have in the accessary socket indicates the battery is charging. The code reader I have is useless so far. The Element is not listed and registration is in Chinese.
The following may have nothing to do with the present problem.
Several days ago I removed the ac/radio surround to replace the Hazzard switch lightbulb which I did. Both wiring connectors were reconnected and the bulb illuminates. The code reader I have is useless so far.
Anyone with insight to my problem?

I will do that this morning. Symptoms suggest it may be the Idle Control Valve.

Hi,
It could be a few things, including the VTEC Cam sensor screens, or the unit it's self.

But, that will usually cause a RPM Limit on acceleration.

A code will point you in the right direction and what I check first with any weirdness!

A decent basic code reader is only about $35 and allows you to clear certain codes from the Computer.

Several years ago, our element was experiencing a very simular situation. Everything was fine while driving, but whenever we came to a stop, the engine would die. A local mechanic checked the compression in each cylinder and found that 2 cylinders were very low and suggested we not put any money into it. That was over 3 years and 40k miles ago. All the element needed was a intake/exhaust valve adjustment, which I did myself, and it has driven fine with no stalling since. I'm sure the other suggestions are applicable, but it is something to look into. Good luck

My 2006 Ex had similar problem with stalling at idle. I ended up cleaning my throttle body and idle control valve. The ICV was really bound up with carbon deposits. Cleaned my MAP sensor. Then lastly, did my own valve adjustment (my first time) which my Honda needed. After all this maintenance, haven't had ANY stalling at idle or any problems! All the info I found on this was from this forum and Youtube videos from people who had DIY walk thru videos. All this is relatively easy as long as you read up on everything and have the proper tools (i.e. torque wrench and honda valve adjustment nut tool).

I had the same issue a few weeks ago. It lasted about 30 minutes of driving, then went away. It's been fine for about 5 weeks now. I have to take it for an oil change, I'll ask them to check the idle control valve.

Tomorrow morning I'm going to jump in and clean both the throttle body and idle control valve. I believe I've done enough research to do it. All the symptoms point to one or the other.

Anyone know what the torque setting for the throttle body is?
