If you had the chance to change color on your Element....

I recently purchased an 08 Element SC, Rootbeer Metallic. So I plan on repainting it sometime within the next couple years. For now, what I have done is polish all panels and bring back dull paint to life. Came out really great. So I was either thinking of one of two things:

1. Refinish it the same color, would be easier to do as interior jambs would not need to be resprayed.
or
2. Do a color change, more work but can be done, just more time consuming and i really only have the element as a daily driver.

If you had a chance to change color on your Element with interior jambs painted as well, what color would you choose? Personally, I'm thinking a solid gray color, maybe viper blue, maybe also altering wheel center color as well. So I'm just wondering what other people would go with.

This is an awesome vehicle so far and am looking forward to driving it for a long time to come.

if the current paint is in good shape, consider vinyl wrapping, it can be peeled off if you change your mind later and there are some pretty amazing vinyl finishes that you cant do with painting like gold chrome etc

Sunset Orange in a minute, given a magic wand! Short of that, just go on tending the MM paint on my 2005, bought from the original owner 6 yrs ago with 65k miles, 109k now. I'm gray, guess my car can be too.

I have an EX, not a SC, but I have been thinking of wrapping the metal panels in a light matte gray so the E looks like a big boxy Nintendo and hits everyone hard in the nostalgia feels. Obviously, this means darker window tint too if possible. In general, I think an E would look good in any matte neutral color. I'd stay away from the flashy paint/vunyl, E is not a flashy ride :)

I would absolutely go for a colour that was never produced, a) simply because of the uniqueness and the fact that going to the trouble of painting the car seems worthy of making it more special than a typical colour on an E, but b) because Honda never made the car in a forest green (something like Clover on the old Civics and CR-V) and I sure would love to have mine in a similar hue ;)

Rootbeer Metallic is one of the best Factory Element colors. (My 3rd all time favorite Element color.)

Rare too!

My vote is keep it the color it already is! :)

Besides, like you said, painting all the door jambs, and doing it right, is a serious time consuming pain!

Hi,

Just thinking maybe some ideas for colors might come from a 1950's Custom Car. A Google search brought up some beautiful examples of retro colors. Another idea is the "Weathered" look, I think that is really cool, beachy, surf style, and just plain awesome.

What an awesome question! I can think of so many different color options.
Some colors that come to mind are:

1) painting it like a lowrider im SoCal native so I grew up around the

2) another Cali thing an element painted like a woody

3) some type of a fake patina like
Copper Rust
Gunmetal gray

I could go on and on I do a bit of playing with paints myself just not on cars.
I say “ Go Wild”
You only live once as far as I know and if we do live more than once you can always repaint it! Lol!

That Woody looks awesome!

And Automotive Enthusiast take note: It looks like it started off life as a Rootbeer Metallic SC! :)
