Hello all! I have a silver 2007 Element EX. While my wife was driving down a residential street, someone backed out of their driveway without looking and damaged our passenger side doors (front and back). They will need to be replaced. Instead of spending all the insurance money on taking it to a garage, I'm planning to buy junkyard doors and install them myself. I've been looking for a couple months on Ebay but haven't found exactly what I want: silver doors with a grey interior door panel and painted (silver) door handles.
1. Can I buy junkyard doors with black plastic handles (presumably from an LX?), and then swap out the door handles with my current (silver) ones? Or are the painted handles and black plastic handles not compatible to swap?
2. Can I buy junkyard doors with a different colored interior door panel, and then swap it out with my current interior door panel?
3. My main question being, are there compatibility issues regarding doors and associated components between the EX, LX, and SC models? Or compatibility issues between various years? Some posts advertise the doors as fitting '03-'11 years, others as just '03-'06 or '07-'11, but I'm not sure what the real compatibility issues are.
