Element lock issues thread

There is a long thread about various lock issues with the Element (really all Hondas). One of the members here is a locksmith and provides great info and a tutorial.

I also had an issue with not being able turn the key from Position 1 to Off. That issue, however, isn't the lock cylinder but the shift interlock hanging up at the shifter and just requires cleaning and lubrication.

 

Thanks for that information my son came over went on I guess youtube and took the cyclyder
out one pin was up he cut it then drilled it out .
Key must remain in cyclyder or other pins will fall out. Put back in works fine. Lucky to have a smart kid ! Thanks Schultz
