Hi, been a while since here. project coming along nicely, my element is a 2004 manual FWD. got a shot a buying a complete 2006 element with AWD, thinking this gives me all the stuff I will require for an AWD conversion, including the computer. I am sure the parts are compatible however, not sure how the computer will act or what kind of issues may arise. or if I even need to change the computer. any info I could have from anyone here who has done this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks So much.

The biggest issue is the driveshaft mount. You may be able to drill out the welds on the donor chassis and move it over, reweld. Is the '04 a 4 or 5 speed automatic?
yes, I am aware of the driveshaft mount being some work, I have seen some pretty crude jobs on that, thats why I am hoping to get the whole car, then I can remove and reweld the mount in, mine is a 5 speed manual transmission, thanks for the reply

The ecu doesn't know whether it's awd or fwd.
Ok, I had originally thought the ecu didn't care, then I called a Honda dealer and they said that the computer would have to be "programed"? therefore I have been unsure. I can do anything on the car but I am not well versed in working with automotive computers. thanks for reply. still tracking down the parts so if I get a complete element
