The biggest issue is the driveshaft mount. You may be able to drill out the welds on the donor chassis and move it over, reweld. Is the '04 a 4 or 5 speed automatic?

yes, I am aware of the driveshaft mount being some work, I have seen some pretty crude jobs on that, thats why I am hoping to get the whole car, then I can remove and reweld the mount in, mine is a 5 speed manual transmission, thanks for the reply

The ecu doesn't know whether it's awd or fwd.

Ok, I had originally thought the ecu didn't care, then I called a Honda dealer and they said that the computer would have to be "programed"? therefore I have been unsure. I can do anything on the car but I am not well versed in working with automotive computers. thanks for reply. still tracking down the parts so if I get a complete element

If the donor is automatic, my understanding is the computer in that one is different. But you shouldn't have to touch it to move the AWD parts over.

the pars will all bolt on from the auto to the manual, however I think there may be some gear ratio differences.

His 04 wouldn't have vsc though

no, the 04 , manual shift doesn't have that vsc stuff.

If it's already a 5 speed manual, there shouldn't be any issue, as there's nothing but a speed sensor and reverse signals from the transmission. The remaining portions of the car should be dumb, minus the VSC. You may have to disable the VSC to fully benefit from the AWD.
