Auto trader, cars.com, Honda Dealers...that's about all I got...man, I go a whole year without seeing one Cargo Khaki on the road, and now this week alone I've seen three on the road (none of whom returned the "wave" to me:x ), and now this thread talking about it....what's the deal!?

I gotta 2005 2WD AT Cargo Khaki - and I am not selling.

When I bought mine in June, the sales person I was dealing with over the phone told me they had not had a CK on the lot in months, and that the color was very difficult to come by, as it was only made in limited quantities (this you all know). Well, I also liked the Red, so I told the dealer I'd come down and see what else they had on the lot.

When I got there, the very first E I came to was a CK! The dealer told me that she had taken a walk on the back walk to see what colors she had to show me, and there was the CK sitting there. It had come into the dealer the day before, and had not even been processed yet to get out onto the front lot.

I drove off in it two hours later!

CK's rare in area

I've only seen ONE CK in my area of NW Florida. Liked it, but thought maybe it was a custom repaint or accident repair job. Now I know that Honda really made them. Only photo of a CK I've able to find on this forum, is a small, almost 'thumbnail' pic; can hardly tell its an "E", much less details. Anyone know of a good CK photo here?

I hate to be a killjoy but there have only been a few lighting conditions where I thought the CK looked good; it nearly looked white. In most normal conditions, it looks to me like Honda forgot to paint it and just left it in primer. The pics in the brochure looked okay and I'm sure that color doesn't show dirt when you put off washing it but when my kid wanted an AWD 5spd and CK was the only thing available in So. Cal., she drove to Nor Cal to pick up a FBP equipped the way she wanted. In its favor, the CK is probably the least produced color and many folks will find that in itself very attractive. The most important thing is get what you want and don't give a crap what I (or anyone else thinks)! Take your time and get the cleanest one that's going to float your boat for many years to come. Enjoy!

Cargo Khaki is the name of a color that really is tan that was painted on the exterior. It is a very limited edition that was only available as a 2005 model. It's one of those colors that you really like or intensly dislike. I have never heard of anyone that was "in the middle" on this one. If that were the only color the Element came in, I would own one but otherwise... As I've said before, the color has the ability to hide the need for a bath better than any other color put on an Element but it's just not for me.

I love the CK more and more every day and I'm glad I have one. There can't be too many, I have seen 3 including mine since I bought it. I collected some pics from the forums here of other CK's.

Cargo Khaki / Black

There was also a thread about someone 'painting/staining' the gray panels BLACK. I think a CK Element with the BLACK trim would be sharp.;-)
