Having recently purchased an 06 Element, I'm in the process of going through everything. When I bought it the airbag light was on and steering wheel controls didn't work. With some advice from this thread I got it figured out.

What I haven't figured out are these two error codes. I did some research and found some advice saying it's likely a weak or dying battery. I ended up upgrading to a larger capacity battery.

Anyway, didn't solve my problem. When I cleared the SRS code, I scanned again.

ABS 61-1 Battery Voltage Malfunction

ABS 62-1 Battery Voltage High

Any ideas where to start with this? I've tried googling but the results are all over the place. From accords to civics to odysseys. Nothing specifically talking about the Element.

Things I've read it could be:

O2 sensor
Alternator
VSA Modulator
Electronic Load Detector
Brake switch
ABS Modulator

Now, the VSA thing is only for 2007-08 I think. Brake switch and O2 sensors seem like unlikely culprits. I'm not sure about the electronic load detector or the ABS modulator. How likely is it that this could just be a worn out alternator?

I did run an electrical test. What ever was on the OBD2 scanner. These results seem good to me. Thoughts?

I'm not exactly sure where to go from here. The check engine light is not on, but I want to correct this issue.

Voltage drop test?

So, if I recall correctly, measure voltage at the battery posts, not the clamps, during cranking. It shouldn't drop below 9.6 or so. Is that correct?

From there do I just go from point to point? Could this be solved with upgraded/replaced wiring? A "big three" upgrade?

What do you mean "with the circuits loaded"?

Hello,
I am looking to buy a 2006 Element, and this morning I had it checked out a mechanic's shop (I'm not very handy with cars, unfortunately). The car is in great shape, but two codes showed up that left the mechanic scratching his head: 61-1 and 62-1. Since your post is about the only one I see talking about possible solutions for these, I thought I'd send you a message. Can you report what you found and what solutions there are to resolve the issue(s)? Should these be a deal breaker, or is the fix/problem relatively minor? Thanks for any assistance you can provide!

Any resolution on this issue? wiring? alternator?
I have same 61-1 (Control Unit Low Voltage) code along with...
62-1 (millimeter wave radar sensor error)
83-1 (CAN Communication Failure)
86-1 (F-Can Malfunction [bus off; communication]

When these codes appear, they appear along with the P2647 error which I'm convinced at this point is not mechanical (I've replaced all related parts to the P2647 error)
It's an intermittent issue so when the engine light comes on I get all of these codes.

Have you found a solution to this because i have a similar problem and im not sure what it is.

61-1 and 62-1 are common codes in Hondas. They usually happen during cranking with a weak battery. They are typically permanent codes and don't cause a check engine light. Unless there is an ongoing problem, ignore them. My 2007 Accord has had these codes for years.

I'm having a 61-1 and a p2647 and p2649 code pop up randomly. I think it's something to do with the electrical. The radio goes on and off amd does a bunch of crap randomly and the car shocks me a but when I close the door. I'm not sure the latter two are related but it's driving me nuts. Did you ever get it figured out?
