Is there any way in hell a supercharger for the K20Z3 could fit our Element with some fabrication? I have read that the k20 intake manifold mounts are nearly identical to those on the k24 block manifolds. Can anyone attest to this?

I keep looking for a supercharger for the Element, hoping someday I will find one. Like a used Jackson Racing supercharger or Comptech header that has been discontinued.... it must be out there... somewhere...

I wish, I wish upon a star...

I reached out to Jose Mercado at Merc Racing and he kindly mailed me a 3.0 pulley, and 2.8 pulley to 'play with'. Currently am running a 3.2 pulley making 5lbs of boost on 93 octane fuel. Talked to my tuner Jorge who is cool with trying the 2.8 pulley on the condition I switch to E85 fuel. E85 will help contend with high IATs and (after talking further with Jorge and doing some research) it just makes sense on a boosted setup like mine. I was surprised to learn that simply switching to E85 alone and re-tune will net more WHP. So I am super excited to try new 2.8lb pulley AND switch to E85 for next dyno session which is slated for late January 2022, stay tuned!

Ok y’all just trying to stay patient for next months smaller pulley upgrade. Had a pro install some decals yesterday. AWD Element on the fenders, and E85 sticker on the rear window in lieu of the upcoming fuel switch and new dyno tune. (Yes I know my Element is dirty) Am hoping to find some time to detail it soon. Stay tuned!

Am running on hardly any sleep last 48 hrs. Am about to hit the hay. So my Element is running great on E85 and now at 257 WHP. The Element really feels alive now. We needed more boost and we got close to 9 PSI with a 2.8 pulley. We have come a long way since the early days when we were at baseline 115 WHP. Shout out to Jose Mercado with Merc Racing and Jorge Hurtado with H-Car Dyno.

So this is 257 WHP (at the wheels horsepower), different than at the crank HP. This was my third dyno tune, second with the supercharger. Baseline dyno (stock without tune and just k@n intake) was 113 WHP. I made a separate thread on this a few years ago. Yesterday, with a smaller pulley and switching to E85 we got to 9 psi equaling a 52 whp gain since last dyno tune which was 205WHP on 5 psi. More importantly we noticed the engine runs much cooler with the E85. Trans is fine so far.

AWD, I just read every post since page 1. Amazing journey and awesome build, and better yet results. Congratulations on the new(ish) edition to your family! I just picked up a swivel car seat since my baby, now 1, graduated from the smaller seat (which pop right out) since a regular rear facing seat is impossible to use with our door setup. Hoping this new seat solves that issue.
Anyways you are an inspiration and thanks for all your sweat equity which made it possible for others to follow suit! I've been eyeing this kit for a while now but my E is currently undergoing a suspension overhaul. The engine will have to wait for now. Anyways congrats again on the build. Very impressive gains.

Thank you sir for the kind words. Yes, it has indeed been a journey. That suspension overhaul is so important. Was one of the first things I did and was a big investment.

He’s super busy. He has a regular day job and works out of his house on the side with the racing stuff. He told me he doesn’t make much money on the Honda side. (they work on Audis too). So far John and I are the only two who have taken the plunge with Merc Racing on our Elements. What is it you want to know? I may know the answer.

IC piping is not required. He has a separate “aftercooler” setup that is propriety and works with his supercharger. It was not necessary in my setup (as I was not seeking crazy power). It can be added as an upgrade later on though as needed. Engine management, injectors, and pump will all be required and are not included in the kit. There will always be ‘other bits needed’ in my experience. You may need a MR PS relocation bracket or tensioner. I had to get my TB bracket fabricated for RSX TB upgrade. I could go on and on. At the very least, I think you are looking at 7-10k depending on what you want, when you are all said and done. And that doesn’t include header or exhaust work. I used Ktuner for ECU management. Turbo is cheaper, but I wanted reliability which I why I leaned toward MR. Also Jose Mercado has a good rep in the racing community. Also wanted to do something that had never been done on a 4 speed auto with DBC. Haven’t quite seen a build like mine.

. Good to know. So ktuned using an oem piggy backed or stand alone? State inspection every 2 years so I’ll need to be able to communicate and have readiness monitors active. I have means of getting around that, but that requires a whole different element.
Also did you retain ac? Like to keep that if possible. Kraftwerks kit says you must eliminate the ac

Me tinkering in the garage last night. Just installed a fuel pressure gauge my wife got me for Christmas. Also installed a fuel damper recently that seems to work quite well.

So I am working with my tuner to create a new tune for my pilgrimage to EOTD this year. My tuner is a wizard and he claims he has made me a tune that will run just fine on 87! I will just have to lay off that boost… Anyone else making the trek up to NC in May?
