Just got back from skiing in CO/ UT and living out of the element. Here are some photos of the platform we used. It held skis, boots and poles below. Gear, clothes, food, cookware, etc for two people can fit above. And the middle section was for sleeping, which is tall enough to accomodate a sleeping bag, sleeping pad, and the tallest section of the hips.
When the seats move up, a flap flips over (supported by a 4x4 wood block) providing about 6 feet to sleep. Then you can wake up in the morning and bring down the folding table and cook some breakfast while having your back against the driver/passenger seat.
