Well its another fan/temperature thread!!!! So sitting at doctors office reading emails with the E (2004) idling for maybe 20 minutes its 80 degrees outside AC is off ( I've idled for an hour at 90+ temps). I'm ready to leave an look at my gauges and the temp is at H, oh oh dont hear the fans running. I turn on the AC and pop the hood and Both fans are running as they should, that's good. Jump in and drive down the road and within a block the temp is down back to normal. Its about 3 miles to the house and the temp stays put I get home and park turn the AC off and sit in the driveway for maybe 5 minutes temp never moves fans never kick in. Cycle the AC on and off and both fans cycle on and off as they should. Waiting for engine to cool off to check coolant level but it should be good I just checked it wed and haven't seen any puddles. Soooo where would You check first??

Mine does the same, New radiator, water pump, thermostat, and radiator temp sender that I am told actuated the relay. the issue is that the radiator fan does not come on until the AC is engaged. I have spent about 6 months tracking down testing and hunting for the cause and am replacing the engine temp sensor this weekend even though it seems to be reporting fine. then I go full electrical diagram tracing and may just piggyback an old Arduino Uno to trigger the fan relay at 205 with an indicator light on the dash set up. Anyone else had this happen?

New OEM water pump, and thermostat. radiator, Engine fan replaced (Found to be good), Radiator temp sensor replaced with radiator, tested electrically. Just no turn on of main fan when engine reaches higher temps. everything else works perfectly.
