I'm shocked at the negativity on this topic. Here's someone, whom we have no knowledge of their background, asking a simple question about an aftermarket modification, being met with such resistance. I respect anothers opinion and take it to heart as a POSSIBLE bit of good advice. But who are you to judge another persons car "culture" just because you think it looks bad. I've been apart of the 4x4 world my whole driving life and have recently delved into the so called "import" lifestyle with my '89 Prelude. I've seen time and time again in this "club", people asking questions about E customization, so obviously a large group of people are looking to make their E different than it already is. If anyone of you on this topic can say that their E is bone stock and you plan to keep it that way, then step forward, otherwise back-off! I could personally care less whether someone painted their panels, or put in the latest stereo equipment because I know that it was their decision. Honestly, who could give a left nut about whether or not someones car is all show and no go, maybe that was their intent. I completely respect anypersons attempt at getting THEIR vehicle to fit THEIR style. At this time, its not like there are a ton of aftermarket parts for the E available that make it move any better. If you've got a bike rack and use it, Great! If you lowered your suspension and like the way the E handles, Awesome! And even if you've beefed up your suspension to do some serious backroad adventures, Cool! Any way you put it, you've already committed yourself to a stereotypical "group" of people that you could be scorned and ridiculed about. SOUNDS LIKE THE POT IS CALLING THE KETTLE BLACK! People get trophies for going fast around a series of left hand turns and people get trophies for making their car look good. Ask a question, get an answer. That's all a new member is looking for. Give a guy/gal a break and keep your comments to yourself and try to give a half-brained attempt at a logical reply. In the end, we're all still driving the same vehicle, modified or not.
