Weird issue that might be the ignition switch?

I have a beloved ‘03 element, 160k miles. Lately, when I turn the key in the ignition, I hear a buzzing noise. Sometimes that’s all I get-it won’t turn over at all, just buzz. The battery is fine and the starter is new-ish.
One thing I’ve noticed is that if I put the key in the ignition and turn the car on right away, it starts no problem. If I let the key sit in the ignition, then attempt to turn it after a minute or so, all I get is buzzing. Anyone ever have this?

I suspect the ignition switch is bad/dirty. Before replacement, order some Deoxit D5 spray from Amazon and try a squirt of that in the switch and insert the key multiple times but don't move from off position for 5 minutes to let the spray evaporate. This fixed mine and also my noisy volume fader on stereo. When my switch was buzzing, it would catch most times but if I turned it slowly to start it would buzz. If that is not it, I gather from the posts, you will have to replace switch if all other components are good. Disclaimer: I helped my E with this fix but you do this at your own risk.
I used the Deoxit spray in an industrial repair setting for several years and it's good stuff.
