Got rid of the Goodyear oem tires at 30k. Went to Discount Tire and bought a set of Geolandar H/T-S 225/70-16.. Discount Tire matched Tire Rack price. Saved $40 on the set!

Drove out of the parking lot and at 45mph I noticed a slight vibration. Hit the E-way getting up to 80mph and still the same vib. Went back the next day and had them rebalance the tires. Vibs got worse after a couple of days. Went to another D C store and had them do a tire balance. Still no luck.

Back to the first store a couple of days later to resolve the problem. They tried another rebalance. Vib still there.

They offered me another set of tires, Goodyears!! "No thanks! I'll try another set of the Geolandars." Well, got the new set on and the vibration is gone but on a smooth road I can "feel" the tread making contact with the road. Sort of like a snow tire.

I researched these tires a lot and did not ONE mention of anyone having to take back a set Geolandars.

I guess someone had to get a bad set sooner or later and it was me. Well I like these tires much better than the Goodyears so I'll be keeping these!!

I have always gotten my tires at Discount Tire and they go out of their way to give you good service!

So far this is the only problem I've heard about a Geolandar tire. Anyone else???

I have about 14000 miles so far with no issues.

Anything mass manufactured will have some kind of failure rate. Such is life. Hopefully, your problems are now past.

Low speeds amplify the aggressive nature of the tread. They really seem to howl sometimes.

I love my Geolander H/T-S! They were on the E when I bought it. The tires wear wonderfully for me and I have had no problems with them. I'm running stock size though. They got me through the blizzard in Ohio last winter with absolutly no problem. I think you will be pleased with them.

i've taken more Geolanders off than I'd like to admit, and every one of those CR-V customers and every one who got suckered into buying them was far from impressed with their mileage. sub 20k was the norm 30k was the max, and cords were showing on one of that set. my mother had them on her CR-V and @ 20k i pulled them off after rotations every 5k (i did every one) they were at the wear bars. Firestone Destination LE's are cheaper, and get twice the mileage consistently. When i was managing a 5 bay automotive shop full time, i've seen my fair share of tires go buy and have yet to meet one happy Yok customer.

Now now boys, let's not start a tire pissing contest :D

My last set of Geos I loved, though yes they're a quite loud tread. I've recommended them to a lot of people and I haven't heard of any quality problems with them thus far.

That's right, there's no need for a tire waving contest here. Besides, we all know the Michelin LTX M/S tires are the best anyway.

Just kidding. That's not cool about your first set of Geos, but it sounds like you got it taken care of. Good luck!

I was extremely happy with my first set of Geos. Lasted me almost 50K, and had great grip on anything except deep slush & ice. Given the price I paid for them, I felt I quite got my money's worth vs. mileage and performance.
