Got rid of the Goodyear oem tires at 30k. Went to Discount Tire and bought a set of Geolandar H/T-S 225/70-16.. Discount Tire matched Tire Rack price. Saved $40 on the set!
Drove out of the parking lot and at 45mph I noticed a slight vibration. Hit the E-way getting up to 80mph and still the same vib. Went back the next day and had them rebalance the tires. Vibs got worse after a couple of days. Went to another D C store and had them do a tire balance. Still no luck.
Back to the first store a couple of days later to resolve the problem. They tried another rebalance. Vib still there.
They offered me another set of tires, Goodyears!! "No thanks! I'll try another set of the Geolandars." Well,got the new set on and the vibration is gone but on a smooth road I can "feel" the tread making contact with the road. Sort of like a snow tire.
I researched these tires a lot and did not ONE mention of anyone having to take back a set Geolandars.
I guess someone had to get a bad set sooner or later and it was me. Well I like these tires much better than the Goodyears so I'll be keeping these!!
